SAS_WebsiteGet a babysitter and please join us for this fabulous FUN-raiser on Saturday, May 14, as we attempt to transform the Knights of Columbus Hall into the most passionately celebrated sporting event tradition in North America. That’s right, we’re doing this thing Kentucky Derby style and the HSO NEEDS your support! The evening attire can be anything but ordinary — part-southern tradition, part-spectacle, it all comes down to the glorious hat!

The goal, as always, is to raise money towards the needs of the school — we’d like to focus this event’s proceeds on the PLAYGROUND PROJECT. As you may know, the first phase of the school expansion involves moving the playground to its new location. Many parents would be excited to know that, along with other upgrades, we may be able to purchase rubber-top flooring to replace the current black tire mulch. But again, your support is key! Click here to download and fill out your Races Reservation form. Return to the school no later than May 6! Your ticket buys you admission and a full-course meal. We’ll be cheering on horses, eating well, and raising money for the kids of our school!

SAS Capital Campaign

We Are All In Graphic 4.indd

This is such an exciting time for our school and parish as we move forward with our expansion project! St. Andrew School will soon grow to include 7th and 8th graders! It may seem like a daunting task to raise the funds we need, but if it’s God’s will for this school to continue to thrive and educate children in our community, then we have to believe this capital campaign will be a success. This project brings to mind the verse from Philippians 1:6 that “He who began a good work in you, will be faithful to complete it.” Of course the verse is more about each person being a work in progress, and not a school building — but then, a Catholic school is surely a way to contribute to God’s work in us. He began a good work here in 1925, and now, 90 years later, we’re going to be faithful to complete it as we move forward with our endeavor.

In related news, we have a generous donation of a Porsche to raffle off to raise money for our capital campaign — a high performance sports car for a high performance campaign! Go to the link in the right sidebar to view pictures of this 1983 Porsche 911 SC Coupe and to buy your tickets! You can also use this link to purchase your raffle tickets. Let’s all buy lots to increase our odds of winning and to support the school at the same time.

Help Us Help Others

shoe drive

St. Andrew School has a beautiful opportunity to make a positive impact on those living in impoverished conditions in countries like Haiti and Ghana. Our school will be collecting 300 bags, each with 25 pairs of gently used, wearable shoes. Shoes can be any size and any type, even roller skates! The shoes will be used to create and support micro-businesses in developing countries where work opportunities are scarce.

Our Shoe Drive begins Now and will end in May. While 300 bags is a huge number we are confident we can reach it, ONE BAG AT A TIME. As an added bonus, we have the potential to raise $3,000 for SAS!

You can help by collecting a bag with 25 pairs and returning it to school by the first collection date of  March 27.

Please feel free to spread the word about our endeavor.  Friends, family, even business relations are all welcome to join in our school’s 300 bag challenge.
